Too High a Price, Too Little Proof:

Mine..

  • The sole intention is merely to stimulate deep reflection, shedding light on possibly neglected concepts and encouraging readers to reconsider their perspectives. It aims to inspire readers to explore new possibilities, encouraging them to revisit this crucial topic, rethink their positions, searching for any overlooked nuances. I would deem it a triumph if this discussion prompts even one individual to ponder the presented arguments critically.
  • This is intended for those who find themselves still entangled in the complexities of this topic, those who have yet to form a decisive opinion, and are actively seeking answers or alternative viewpoints. It’s meant for individuals deeply concerned about navigating existence without a guiding light or compass, those grappling to discern the purpose behind their existence and that of the expansive universe. For those who have not yet found solace in the notion that their entire existence might be devoid of meaning, and the grand narrative of life may culminate in what seems like the most anticlimactic ending, a resounding NOTHING.
  • This piece is not intended to initiate any debates or discussions. I don’t possess the expertise of a religious scholar or a scientist, and thus, I’m not inclined to engage in discussions about the points presented here. Nevertheless, I’ve extensively studied the perspectives of scholars and scientists who have elaborated on these points. I’ve also come across attempts (though unsuccessful) to challenge or counter these arguments, which only served to strengthen my faith, leaving no room for a change in my viewpoint. Therefore, I kindly urge you not to send counterarguments; I won’t respond to any. The purpose of this endeavour is to offer an alternative perspective to those who might be seeking one. If this perspective doesn’t resonate with you or if you’re not interested in exploring different viewpoints, please feel free to disregard it.
  • Many who delve into the question of God’s existence often concentrate on providing ample evidence to support specific points or arguments. My objective, however, is to take a step back, to widen the lens and capture the broader panorama. I strive to approach the subject holistically, steering away from the narrow focus of a magnifying glass that tends to lead us into debates about minutiae, rather than encouraging profound contemplation of the entirety of the matter.

Yours..

  • If your perspective on this matter is firmly established, and you have decisively made up your mind, then this discussion may not be pertinent for you. I encourage you to cease reading further; I have no intention of squandering your precious, and limited, time on Earth (considering you don’t believe in an Afterlife).
  • If your aim is to challenge the viewpoints outlined in this paper, to present counterarguments, or to engage in a discussion where you anticipate my response, I kindly ask you to refrain from reading further; this discourse may not align with your intentions. This implies that your primary objective is to echo your own opinions, reinforcing your convictions without a genuine desire to consider alternative viewpoints. Your motivation seems rooted in the need to assert your ego and indulge in argumentative inclinations, rather than fostering genuine curiosity, open-mindedness, and an awareness of the profound implications of your stance.
  • However, if you possess a genuine eagerness to explore alternative perspectives, a willingness to set aside your ego and preconceived notions, I implore you to continue reading. My sincere hope is to offer even a glimmer of insight or spark a moment of contemplation regarding this immensely significant aspect of life… and Eternity!

If this resonates with you, I am profoundly grateful to God for guiding me to write these words. If it doesn’t, I genuinely apologize for any time I may have taken from you. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

My proposal, although not novel, has been explored by others before, notably by J. Warner Wallace in his book “God’s Crime Scene,” where he applies a straightforward crime scene approach to investigate eight pieces of evidence in the universe and determine the most reasonable explanation. What I humbly present here is an approach that widens the lens, encompassing a broader vision, and presenting more proofs. The evidence I present is categorized into two types: one that is religion-neutral, not tied to any specific faith, and the other firmly rooted in Islam, drawing from my proficiency in this religion, which is my personal belief system. This division allows for a comprehensive exploration that considers both the universal and specific aspects of the argument.

Before delving into my proposal, I urge you to don three essential pieces of mental gear that will serve as your metaphorical air-tank and lifejacket throughout this article. Think of these as necessary framing of the mind while you navigate the ideas I’m about to present.

  1. Onus of Proof:

Contemplate this scenario: Two entrepreneurs approach you with investment opportunities. The first proposes an investment of $30,000 in his project, promising unlimited lifetime revenue and benefits if it succeeds. However, if it fails, you lose the $30,000 with no chance of recovery. The second individual suggests a smaller investment of $3,000. If his venture goes well, you stand to gain a substantial one-time-profit of $3,000,000 (as if you’ve won the lottery), yours to use as you see fit. However, if things don’t go as planned, the bank seizes all your assets down to the last penny. Moreover, you are burdened with a lifelong debt that you must repay!

Given these scenarios, it’s only logical to be far more skeptical of the second entrepreneur and to insist on rigorous proof that the investment won’t lead to a catastrophic loss. Logically, one is highly averse to such a potential financial disaster and far more inclined to accept a limited loss or even a limited, but significantly more likely, profit.

In the context of our discussion, when we consider the prospect of potentially misspending approximately 80 years of life in a belief system (albeit has proven to greatly benefit societies), it pales in comparison to the ramifications of squandering eternity and the Afterlife, consigning oneself to an eternity in hellfire. In this light, it becomes not only logical but essential that the burden of proving the impossibility of God’s existence rests upon those denying the Creator. After all, it is they who are influencing people to sacrifice their eternal fate. The responsibility should not, as is often the case, lie with those who believe in a Creator to prove the existence of God, the Angels, or the Afterlife.

So, when an atheist suggests that you relinquish the concept of a Creator, essentially urging you to forsake not just your belief in the Afterlife but also condemning yourself to an eternity of torment, all while offering numerous theories and speculations as the price for this exchange, your only justifiable response should be to demand a single, irrefutable, beyond-any-doubt proof that a Creator’s existence is an impossibility! Anything less than that would mean that you have inexplicably undersold your eternity!

This doesn’t mean you should “pretend to believe” without genuine conviction to avoid losing a supposed “advantage.” God does not accept superficiality or hypocrisy; He discerns the secrets of the heart and the authenticity of faith. The key is to exert genuine effort and not hastily abandon your faith. Also, don’t elevate science to an infallible status; it’s not immune to error or change. Human effort often exposes the flaws in theories, some upheld for centuries. Few scientific facts are indisputable; much is theoretical and subject to revision with new discoveries.

Crucially, scholars, whether scientific or religious, aren’t infallible; they’re fallible human beings. Avoid idolizing scientists while unfairly tarnishing the image of religious scholars. Both groups encompass both integrity and deceit. Numerous scientists lacked ethical judgment, resorting to heinous acts in the name of research. Keep seeking truth earnestly and openly, with a heart sincerely dedicated to finding it. The stakes of losing this pursuit are profound!

2. Limited Aptitudes:

For those who solely rely entirely on the realms of science, the tangible, and the measurable, it’s crucial to recognize that human faculties are inherently limited, regardless of how skilled an individual might be in any specific area. Humen ears can only perceive sounds within a finite range of frequencies; the human eye can see within a particular spectrum of wavelengths known as the visible spectrum. Even the most accomplished athletes and individuals are confined within the constraints of their physical bodies and muscles. In every aspect of our physical existence, limitations are inherent. Akin to that are the instruments at our dispossession; they are also limited no matter how advanced and sophisticated because they’re a product of a limited-capabilities designer. So, the pertinent question arises: what leads us to believe that our cognition, intellect, and sensory abilities can encompass the entirety of existence—everything to see, hear, smell, or touch? What evidence is there to suggest that there isn’t a realm beyond our comprehension, beyond the scope of our awareness? Can science, with absolute certainty, prove the absence of realities, objects, or beings that surround us but elude our knowledge and perception? What substantiates that the scientific instruments we created have tapped into every area of existence there is to explore and measure?

In light of these limitations, it’s perplexing that we, with our finite faculties and bounded minds, assertively judge and deny the existence of a Creator. We base these judgments on our inadequate abilities to comprehend and sense, the limited science, knowledge, and intellect we’ve amassed, along with the instruments and measuring devices we’ve created. With an almost inflated ego, some claim with unwavering certainty that there is no Creator. This stance is akin to an ant declaring with absolute conviction that it will never be trodden upon by a much larger creature. Such an analogy highlights the audaciousness of our claims in the face of the vast unknown that might exist beyond our comprehension and perception.

3. Creator of The Absolute Creator:

If you’re struck by the absurdity of this subtitle, then you already get the point. It is no longer valid to pose the much-refuted question, ‘Who created The Creator?’, as it contradicts the fundamental concept of an ‘Absolute Creator’—a being uncreated, yet responsible for the creation of everything else.

While atheists demand concrete, tangible, and measurable evidence within the confines of our limited human faculties and available tools, theists contend that there exists an overwhelming array of circumstantial evidence, boundless in quantity and compelling enough in quality, that meets rigorous standards of proof through meticulous deduction and inference.

Circumstantial evidence by definition is indirect evidence that doesn’t directly prove a fact, but it can lead to a logical inference that the fact exists. If sufficiently persuasive, the collective of circumstantial evidence would be enough to establish a compelling case, even in the absence of direct proof. The strength of circumstantial evidence often requires solid, direct, physical evidence to counter its conclusions.

Circumstantial evidence must be adequate to meet established standards of proof and is generally considered based on two factors:

    1. The strength of the inference it supports
    2. The likelihood of alternative explanations

In the realm of this discussion, as per the aforementioned definitions, there exists no direct evidence supporting the existence of a Creator. This implies that we have neither witnessed, heard, nor touched the Creator, nor can we measure His presence with our current technological apparatus. Simultaneously, there isn’t a single piece of evidence, robust, scientific, and beyond doubt, that unequivocally negates any possibility of a Creator. There is no definitive proof that life was entirely crafted without an initial “instigator.”

However, what prevails is an astonishing multitude of powerful circumstantial evidence. Each piece of this evidence hints strongly at the likelihood of a Creator or can be explained by the concept of a Creator, while science, both historically and presently, has failed to provide evidence to prove the contrary. The amalgamation of this vast array of circumstantial evidence becomes, in itself, a compelling argument for the existence of a Creator.

The core recurring theme/overarching idea throughout this article is that for each of the offered categories of circumstantial evidence, the existence of a Creator certainly offers a plausible explanation for the mounting circumstantial evidence, whereas science fails to present definitive proof refuting this possibility or constructing an alternative compelling scenario.

As mentioned previously, I’ve divided the circumstantial pieces of evidence pertaining to this topic into two types:

    • Religion-neutral
    • Islam-related

Moreover, within each of these two types, there exist several distinct categories, each addressing specific aspects of the argument. Under each category, a plethora of examples abound, countless in number, therefore, I have opted to mention a few examples only. When these examples are considered in aggregate, they bolster the case with compelling strength, leading to a conclusion drawn beyond any reasonable doubt.

While this list is certainly not exhaustive and encompasses much more, it has been condensed to limit the length of the article.

    1. Profound Pattern in the Orchestra of the Life-Cycle:

In the grand symphony of life, orchestrated with meticulous care, every note and rhythm align to create a harmonious existence. At the heart of this orchestration lies the delicate balance between human needs and the elements crafted to fulfil them. Imagine life as a circle, to ensure this circle remains unbroken, humans were endowed with needs driving the creation of products (purposeful creations) – both animate and inanimate. These products, designed to fulfil these needs, were meticulously crafted with exquisite artistry to satisfy these fundamental urges. Each element, whether tangible like sustenance or intangible like companionship, was bestowed with captivating allure, drawing humans toward them in a dance of desire.

Yet, amid this allure, lies a profound lesson in moderation. The very products designed to meet our needs can transform from blessings to burdens if not approached with discernment. The wisdom of moderation dictates that neither scarcity nor excess aligns with human well-being. Instead, it champions the virtue of selectiveness, urging us to tread the middle path. It is in this delicate balance, where needs are met without extravagance, that the true essence of life’s offerings is realized. Thus, the artistry of creation not only lies in the allure of products but also in the wisdom of their moderate consumption, guiding humanity toward fulfillment and harmony. It’s not just about having, but having in the right measure – neither too little to cause lack nor too much to incite excess, and having while abiding by certain rules meant not to cause discomfort or dissatisfaction, but to ensure fulfillment of the need preserves the wellbeing.

In Essence: The Choreography of Existence

Human –> Needs –> Elements –> Beauty >>>> All within a framework that regulates this cycle

In the intricate dance of existence, a divine choreographer guides every step, every beat, ensuring the harmony of life’s symphony. At the core of this choreography lies a profound pattern:

    1. Innate Need: Life begins with a fundamental need, a heartbeat echoing the pulse of existence.
    2. Fulfilling Essence: In response, elements emerge, meticulously crafted to satiate these primal needs.
    3. Enchanting Beauty: To kindle desire, these elements are adorned with captivating beauty – a mesmerizing allure that stirs the soul.
    4. Guiding Wisdom: Yet, this enchantment is not without wisdom. Rules, akin to the gentle hands of a tutor, guide the interaction with these elements. They ensure moderation, respect, and harmony, transforming desire into purpose, and pleasure into preservation.

Reflecting on the above, consider, as an example, the primal need for sustenance, the fuel that keeps the human engine running. Thus, the human is created with the feeling of hunger. Enter the variety of foods, an array of shapes, tastes, textures, and aromas, each a testament to divine artistry. Yet, this culinary delight is not an invitation to indulgence without bounds. Rules and guidance were bestowed upon humanity, delineating what, how much, and when to consume. This wisdom ensures that the act of nourishment, while a pleasure, remains a means of preservation, not self-destruction. Gluttony, the epitome of excess, finds no sanctuary in this balanced design.

To present a second example, ponder the intricate dance of procreation woven into the fabric of existence. The need for propagation, an innate urge within humans, propelled the creation of partners from the opposite sex. Beauty, in its myriad forms, was infused into this creation, sparking desire and ensuring the continuation of life on Earth. Yet, within this natural urge, chaos could easily ensue if left unchecked. Hence, rules and decrees emerged, guiding this profound human need towards a path of harmony and stability. Marriage, an institution as old as humanity itself, stands as a testament to this balance. It offers not just companionship but a structured way to channel the powerful force of attraction, ensuring consistency in partnership and providing guidelines on how to fulfill this need in a manner that nurtures both individuals involved. In the delicate interplay between desire, creation, and societal structure, a profound wisdom is unveiled – a wisdom that speaks of a purposeful design rather than a mere happenstance of evolution.

This profound pattern, woven into the very fabric of existence, speaks of an intelligence far beyond human comprehension, a divine design, that meticulously established these systems, weaving beauty, desire, and fulfillment into the fabric of existence. It unveils a choreographer whose artistry is not just in the creation of needs and their fulfillments, but in the delicate balance between desire and restraint, beauty and purpose. Such intricate organization speaks not of randomness, but of purposeful creation, a testament to the super-intelligence and divine management guiding the symphony of life.

A multitude of examples echo this pattern, showcasing a meticulous design. And while the “how” in both examples is scientifically explained and understood, there underlies a profound “why” beneath the surface.  This level of organization and complexity defies randomness or evolution, pointing instead to the necessity of management, super-intelligence, and extraordinary design. It certainly implies a being that planned the life cycle to happen in such a pattern. A being that created human needs, provided elements to satisfy them, and adorned these elements with beauty to attract humans, all with the objective of sustaining life. And finally, a framework was put in place to guide and govern how humans use these elements, endowed with wisdom and willpower. Does this intricate system truly arise from nothing, from randomness, from a lack of intelligence? The depth of purpose and design in every aspect of life indicates otherwise.

Existence of a Creator is a plausible explanation, while science fails to provide definitive proof against it.

    2. The Initial Creation:

Evolution, often touted as an explanation for the diversity of life, faces critical challenges in addressing two fundamental aspects: the emergence of entirely new species, distinct from any existing forms, and the origin of the very first cell, raising questions about its initial creation and origin.

Evolutionary theories predominantly focus on gradual changes within existing species over vast spans of time. However, they often lack substantial explanations for the abrupt appearance of entirely novel life forms, each with unique characteristics and genetic makeup. Equally puzzling is the enigma surrounding the genesis of the inaugural cell, the foundational unit of all life. How did this intricate and self-sustaining entity come into existence, and from where did it originate?

In delving into the origins of life, these gaps challenge the conventional narrative, prompting deeper inquiry into the profound mysteries of existence. The pursuit of understanding transcends mere adaptations within species, compelling us to explore the roots of life itself, pondering the profound forces that set the stage for the incredible diversity of the living world.”

A few critical points demand our attention in the discourse on evolution and creation:

    1. Origin of the First Cell: Even if evolution were definitively proven, it still leaves a profound question unanswered: how was the very first cell created in the first place? Evolution, in its current framework, does not provide a satisfactory explanation for the initial emergence of life. The mystery of life’s origin remains an enigma, pushing the boundaries of scientific inquiry.

    3. Science – The Creator’s Instrument:

Science itself, with all its laws and functions based on predictability and outcomes, rooted in specific conditions and parameters, is evidence of a Creator. For instance, the laws of physics, mathematics, biology, and chemistry all dictate particular outcomes under given circumstances. Take the example of water: when its temperature drops to 0 degrees Celsius, it freezes into a solid; when it reaches 100 degrees Celsius, it boils and transforms into a gas. All these laws are essentially decisions, predetermined rules dictating how the universe operates. But who makes these decisions? Who determined that an object dropped would fall to the ground and not upwards? Why does gravity pull downwards and not in a different direction or with varying strength? Why does any science law dictate a certain outcome, not any other?

These fundamental questions find their resonance in the existence of a Creator. The intricate precision in the laws of the universe can be explained coherently in the context of a deliberate design. This explanation remains open-ended and inclusive. Science, in all its rigor, has not conclusively refuted the possibility of a Decision-Maker underlying these fundamental decisions and laws.

As to why such decisions were made and laws established? The Creator’s Purpose is unveiled: It is to support and enable our life on Earth.

Yet again, the existence of a Creator is a plausible explanation, while science fails to provide definitive proof against it.

    4. The Universe: Complexity, Vastness, Variety, Design, Interdependencies

The universe, with its vastness and all the miracles that exist, from the smallest of its creatures to the largest, is a testament to the existence of a Creator. Every intricacy, every delicate balance, and every law of nature points towards a purposeful design. Consider the complexity of DNA, the blueprint of life itself, or the symbiotic relationships that exist in ecosystems, where different species depend on each other for survival. The question arises: who ordained the necessity of such interdependent relationships? In this meticulously woven tapestry of life, the complete autonomy of any species or individual being isn’t the intended purpose. Rather, it’s the harmonious co-dependency, the interwoven threads of existence, and the shared journey of communal living that define life’s essence. The Creator’s wisdom is evident in the delicate balance that necessitates cooperation and mutual reliance, reminding us that interconnectedness and collaboration are the very threads that sustain the fabric of life. These phenomena cannot be mere products of chance or randomness; they signify a deliberate plan. From the graceful dance of celestial bodies to the intricate ecosystems on Earth, every aspect of the universe reveals a Creator’s touch.

In the face of such compelling evidence, science finds itself in awe rather than denial. Scientists, while unraveling the mysteries of the cosmos, often encounter phenomena that defy conventional explanations. The exquisite fine-tuning of the universe’s constants, the emergence of life in its myriad forms, and the inherent order governing the natural world all point to a guiding intelligence. Even the most rigorous scientific inquiry cannot negate the profound sense of purpose woven into the fabric of the cosmos. The more we delve into the intricacies of existence, the more evident it becomes that there is an intelligent force shaping our reality, a force that transcends the boundaries of scientific understanding.

Embracing the idea of a Creator doesn’t diminish the importance of scientific exploration; instead, it enriches the quest for knowledge. Understanding the universe as a creation nurtures a sense of wonder and reverence, motivating scientists and thinkers to delve deeper into the mysteries of existence. It invites us to contemplate not only how things work but also why they work the way they do. In the grand tapestry of the cosmos, the presence of a Creator adds depth and purpose, offering humanity a profound connection to the universe and a source of eternal fascination.

Within this same category, we observe two critical aspects that constitute stark evidence that shout against the denial of a purposeful designer.

    1. Variety
    2. Beauty

    Let’s ponder each.

    Variety (No Replication)

If the universe were solely governed by abstract scientific laws, we would anticipate repetitions (Millions of them!) and limited variations. However, what we observe is quite the opposite:  an astounding infinite variety — the decree that no two creatures shall ever be entirely identical. This decree of infinite variety defies the expectations of uniformity and showcases the Creator’s deliberate intention for uniqueness in every living being.

This principle stands in stark contrast to the laws of science, which suggest that similar inputs yield identical outputs. In the world of molecules, for example, when molecular hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) interact under similar conditions, they yield either water or hydrogen peroxide, not an array of different compounds. However, life defies this predictability, presenting us with an astounding array of diversity in terms of species, appearance, intricate details, fingerprints, retinal prints, DNA, personality, aspirations, weaknesses, and creative abilities.

We are not merely confronted with a limited range of diversity; instead, we are confronted with an inconceivable spectrum of variations. Even when we consider identical twins, who share the same mother, father, womb, diet, and environmental conditions, not to mention the same DNA (egg and sperm), they remain distinguished from one another in countless aspects, far beyond just one or two.

In light of this astounding diversity, several compelling questions naturally arise:

    • Who orchestrates this boundless variety, ensuring that no two entities are identical?
    • Why weren’t the same species replicated and created identically?
    • How does the principle of distinctiveness persist even in the most identical of circumstances, such as identical twins?
    • Could such intricate diversity arise merely by chance and randomness, or does it point towards a deliberate and purposeful design?
    • What might this diversity reveal about the nature of the Creator, and what message does it convey to those who contemplate it?

Consider for a moment an alternative scenario: a world where a finite number of species are replicated identically, each serving its function in the grand cycle of life. Such a simplistic design could have been the easy way out. Yet, reality tells a vastly different story.

In our world, the sheer diversity of life forms, both known and unknown, ancient and contemporary, is staggering. It defies comprehension, leaving us awestruck by the boundless variations that exist within creatures of all kinds. No one can claim to know them all; even the most primitive organisms continue to hold mysteries that elude our understanding.

Logically, we are led to a profound realization: there must be an instigator, a force, that has caused this extraordinary diversity to emerge from seemingly identical inputs. This instigator possesses not only the will and intent but also the intelligence, knowledge, and immense creativity to orchestrate these variations. Importantly, these differences are not mere anomalies or defective copies; rather, they reflect a deliberate design.

Creatures within each biological category exhibit relative equivalence in their overall capacities and features. Yet, they are uniquely distinct in countless facets, almost as if their Creator intended this diversity and every new creation to be yet another testament to His incredible power of creation. It is not a one-time event but a continuous, awe-inspiring process where each day unveils new, distinct creations, showcasing the ongoing brilliance of the Creator in fashioning the world in its exquisite and diverse forms.

The Splendour of Beauty: Wonderment and Delight in Observing

Beholding the wonders of creation, one cannot help but be enraptured by the boundless beauty that envelops us. The Creator of all beings exhibits not only an unparalleled degree of creativity but also an inherent penchant for captivating beauty. This beauty is not a random occurrence but a deliberate choice infused into the very essence of existence.

In a profound narration by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), it is stated that “God Is Beautiful and Loves beauty.” This wisdom resonates deeply with the natural world, where every element bears the mark of exquisite beauty and designer. The evidence found in nature stands as a compelling testament to this divine truth, highlighting the Creator’s love for beauty manifested in every corner of the universe.

Beauty manifests itself in myriad forms, from the intricate designs to the dynamics of motion, from the smallest details to the vibrant array of colours, and even in the complementary functionality between different beings. It reveals itself in the flavours that dance on our taste buds, the fragrances that delight our senses, and the textures that evoke profound sensations. Artists, in their pursuit of beauty, find inspiration in the creations around them. The myriad colours of flowers, the elegance of birds in flight, the meticulous geometry of a spider’s web, and the architectural marvel of a bird’s nest—all showcase the awe-inspiring beauty that pervades the natural world.

This beauty, far from being a mere coincidence or an afterthought, serves as a testament to the deliberate choice of the Creator. It exists without any scientific necessity or functional requirement. Creatures could have been ordinary-looking machines, devoid of any aesthetic charm, yet perfectly functional. Instead, the universe is adorned with beauty, a conscious decision made by the Creator, inviting us to marvel, appreciate, and find inspiration in the enchanting tapestry of existence. Beauty, in all its forms, becomes a profound testament to the Creator’s intentional design and a reminder of the exquisite artistry inherent in creation.

Indeed, beauty also serves as a source of profound joy and solace in our earthly existence. It acts as a balm, soothing our struggles and pains, reminding us of the exquisite wonders that surround us. Consider a life devoid of vibrant colours, enchanting aromas, delightful tastes, and the inspiration for magnificent architecture and creativity. Such a monotonous existence would be overwhelmingly bleak and scarcely liveable. Beauty, in all its forms, enriches our lives and elevates our spirits, offering a glimpse of the divine grace that permeates our world. And indeed, it is additionally a testament to God’s Love and Mercy.

Instinct: The Innate, Basic Knowledge Every Living Creature is Born With

At the heart of every living being lies an innate, intrinsic knowledge—the very essence that steers newborns from the moment they enter the world. But the profound question remains: what or who is the wellspring of this knowledge that guides their first breaths, their initial steps into the world?

Nature, devoid of consciousness, cannot be the origin. Parents of numerous species do not engage in formal education; many times, they pass away shortly after giving birth, leaving their offspring to navigate the world without instruction. How, then, do these newborns know how to survive, to fly, to swim, to build, to create intricate webs, without the guidance of a mentor? Where does their initial wisdom spring from? Moreover, the staggering complexity found within our DNA—packed with unimaginable data—begs the question: how could such intelligence be encoded into our very essence by a non-intelligent creation?

Indeed, every creature emerges as a living miracle, a testament to the Creator’s presence, offering us not only proof but also boundless inspiration in the intricate tapestry of life that unfolds, second by second, all around us.

These three things (variety, beauty, instinct) necessitate a Creator possessing essential elements:

1-    A Will: The intention to fashion an endless array of diversity within life.

2-    Knowledge: The wisdom to instil fragments of this knowledge into the core of every newborn creature, a knowledge that transcends the boundaries of conventional learning.

3-    Creativity: An unimaginable creative force, akin to that of an unparalleled designer, shaping every form of life with artistry.

4-    Inclination for Beauty: A propensity for beauty that serves as an eternal testament to the existence of an All-Knowing, Beautiful Creator. This beauty permeates every creation, whispering the presence of a divine hand in every moment, every colour, and every shape.

5-    The Power: The sheer might to set this grand symphony of life into motion, to breathe existence into every being that graces our planet.

     The Symphony of Order

Consider the meticulous order that pervades every aspect of existence, from the tiniest individual creature to the grandeur of the entire universe. This precision, this astounding level of systematicity, cannot be the result of random chaos. It must be the work of a magnificent, All-Knowing, All-Encompassing power, guiding and managing each element in perfect harmony.

In the human world, every system we create, whether it’s a machine, a government, a production line, or a healthcare system, is meticulously managed and monitored. There are checks and balances in place, ensuring that deviations from the intended path are corrected promptly. This fundamental law of life is evident in our daily experiences. Just as man-made systems require supervision and management, the natural world is no exception. It’s not a disjointed collection of independent entities but a seamlessly integrated tapestry, where every creation is managed individually, concurrently, and collectively. The orchestration of this symphony is so majestic, so harmoniously beautiful, that we can only watch in complete awe, unless we choose to remain blind-hearted.

Consider the sheer magnitude of the workforce, intelligence, organizational capacity, and decision-making skills required to maintain such a symphony of order. It’s beyond human comprehension, a divine masterpiece playing out before our eyes, inviting us to marvel at the profound wisdom that underpins the universe. Only those willing to truly see can grasp the enormity of this orchestrated order, a testament to the boundless capabilities of the Creator.

    5. Accountability and Justice: The Pillars of Harmony

How can we demand and insist on justice in every aspect of life, yet concede its absence in the afterlife?

In the tapestry of human existence, the concept of accountability is ingrained from our earliest days, shaping our behaviour at home, in school, and at work. We are held accountable for our actions in countless ways, encouraging us to strive for excellence, kindness, and moral integrity. In the grandeur of life’s intricate design, the absence of accountability would shatter the very essence of justice and fairness.

Imagine a world where there are no consequences for our actions, where theft, violence, and cruelty have no repercussions. Without accountability, what compels us to rise above the basic duties enforced by law and embrace charity, kindness, and empathy? In the absence of a higher justice, the impulse for revenge would be unstoppable, leaving the wounded soul in a perpetual cycle of despair and bitterness.

Consider the profound depth of forgiveness. How can one forgive the unforgivable without the solace of knowing that ultimate justice awaits? How does a heartbroken parent find peace after the loss of a murdered child, if there is no faith in a divine justice that transcends the inadequacies of human-created systems?

Moreover, envision a world where tyrants, oppressors, and wrongdoers escape earthly consequences, and where their deeds go unpunished. Would this not be the epitome of injustice, a stain on the very fabric of existence?

The concept of accountability and ultimate justice serves not only as a deterrent against wrongdoing but also as a beacon of hope for the oppressed and a source of solace for the wounded. It is the cornerstone upon which our moral compass is built, reminding us that in the grand scheme of existence, fairness prevails, wrongs are righted, and justice, in its most profound sense, shall be served. Without this divine assurance, the very foundation of our ethical framework would crumble, leaving us adrift in a world devoid of moral direction.

Our unwavering belief in a just system, whether it manifests in this world or the afterlife acts as a powerful healing balm for the hearts of the oppressed and persecuted. It provides solace, offering hope that injustices will not go unanswered. Moreover, it stands as a formidable deterrent dissuading potential transgressors who might otherwise commit injustices with impunity, by instilling the fear of consequences for their actions.. The assurance of divine justice is not merely a philosophical concept; it plays a pivotal role in upholding the very fabric of society. In the absence of this bedrock of faith in the cosmic balance of justice, the rates of despair, self-destruction, suicide, and criminality would undoubtedly skyrocket, casting a shadow of despair and chaos over our existence. The assurance of a just order fosters compassion, empathy, and a shared responsibility for the well-being of all.

Indeed, life’s equilibrium is delicately maintained by the interplay of desire and fear. Our aspirations are driven by the allure of rewards, while the prospect of punishment serves as a formidable deterrent. This fundamental equation permeates every facet of our existence. We labour not only for the allure of financial gain but, much more significantly, out of fear of poverty. Similarly, our commitment to exercise stems from the desire for good health and fitness, yet it is the fear of ailments and disabilities that propels us further. Fear, in its essence, acts as a vital life force, shaping our decisions and actions.

In the sacred verses of the Holy Quran (2:179), a profound truth is eloquently articulated: “O people of understanding, there is life for you in retribution, that you may guard yourselves against violating the Law.” This wisdom underscores the indispensable role of consequences and retribution in guiding us toward righteousness. It also emphasises that for every punishment executed, ten, twenty, or much more lives were spared, and crimes prevented. Fear, in its constructive form, becomes a beacon illuminating the path of moral conduct, urging us to tread carefully and uphold the sanctity of the law. It is this balance between desire and fear, reward and consequence, that not only defines our choices but also serves as the moral compass steering humanity toward a just and harmonious existence.

Indeed, the perception of God as a revenge seeker is a misunderstanding that fails to grasp the essence of His mercy and forgiveness. The very nature of God’s boundless compassion is evident in His enduring patience and willingness to grant countless opportunities for repentance. God’s mercy knows no bounds; it extends even to those who have spent a lifetime denying Him. He patiently awaits their return to guidance, offering chances for redemption at every moment.

The idea that God seeks to torment His creation contradicts His fundamental attribute of mercy. His kingdom remains unaffected by humanity’s beliefs or actions; it neither diminishes with denial nor expands with repentance. God’s desire is for His creation to find their way back to Him, and His mercy allows for sins and disbelief to be erased entirely upon sincere, genuine repentance, even in the final moments of life. This profound forgiveness underscores His compassionate nature, emphasizing His role as a guide and forgiver rather than a vengeful deity.

The essence of returning to God and seeking repentance involves refraining from denying His existence, acknowledging His divine authority, and accepting His complete control over all creatures and the universe. This is followed by adhering to His laws, which were not ordained to burden or make us miserable, but rather to guide us based on His wisdom, as our Creator, to what is best for our well-being and our lives, individually and as a community.

The tragic reality is that many individuals tend to delay their search for guidance, believing they have an abundance of time to amend their ways. However, the notion of “later” often remains just that – a distant possibility. For countless souls, the opportunity for transformation is abruptly cut short by the sudden arrival of death.

    6. Purpose: The Heartbeat of Existence

In the grand tapestry of life, every object, every living being, serves a purpose within the holistic system of existence. The profound question that echoes through the ages is: what is our purpose? How can we presume that everything around us is imbued with intention except for ourselves? This fundamental inquiry, the very essence of our existence, urges us to seek meaning and direction.

Consider the sheer absurdity that would ensue if life lacked purpose. Why bother to rise with the dawn, work tirelessly, and engage in the ceaseless pursuit of knowledge if our journey concludes in the void of eternal silence? The notion of absolute purposelessness, the belief that there is nothing beyond this temporary existence, would pave the way for moral catastrophes. Humanity would be driven to question the value of life itself, contemplating drastic measures to alleviate suffering, even at the cost of extinguishing life prematurely.

How can any reasonable human concede that life existed for no purpose?!

Without purpose, society might be tempted to abandon the elderly, the handicapped, and the terminally ill, deeming them unproductive burdens to be discarded. The very struggle inherent in life, the challenges we face, would lose their significance. If life had no purpose, why endure hardship? Why not embrace an end that promises relief from pain, challenges, and heartaches?

Yet, in the face of these existential questions, we continue to rise, to toil, to dream, and to create. What propels us forward? It is the innate understanding, deep within our souls, that purpose is the heartbeat of our existence. It is the driving force compelling us to seek knowledge, to cultivate relationships, to leave a legacy for generations yet unborn. Our purpose, intertwined with the very fabric of our being, is the essence that gives meaning to every breath, every endeavour, and every sunrise. Without purpose, life loses its vibrancy, its colour, and its vitality. It is the eternal quest for purpose that fuels our existence, transforming every moment into a canvas upon which we paint the story of our purpose-driven lives.

The concept of a universe devoid of a Creator isn’t merely absurd; it carries profound and perilous consequences. Under the umbrella of atheism lies the potential for the annihilation of humanity itself.

    7. Morality: The Ethical Compass

In the intricate web of human existence, morality stands as our guiding star, illuminating the path between right and wrong, ethics and kindness. It’s a concept often pondered, especially by atheists who argue for high ethical standards without religious belief. Yet, the deeper questions persist, challenging the very essence of our moral compass.

Who decides what is right or wrong if not religion? From ancient times, the prohibition against murder, the condemnation of incest and adultery, the sanctity of marriage – these ethical principles are deeply ingrained in human society. But where do they originate? Why is it sinful to harm another, to violate the bonds of family, or to betray the sanctity of marriage?

Another challenge related to morality lies in its subjectivity, varying greatly across cultures and societies. What’s considered ethical in one society might be condemned in another. Even notions of criminality fluctuate; actions deemed moral in one society might be criminalized elsewhere. Morality is not fixed; it evolves with time, with practices once deemed immoral now normalized in modern contexts. A unified frame of reference is essential and that can only come from a divine source that Knows what’s in the human’s best interest.

Consider the absence of religion. If there is no ultimate reference point, how do we establish laws of conduct? Why do we abide by ethical norms? Without an absolute moral framework, how do we differentiate between the just and the unjust, the kind-hearted and the cruel? Even if you are a paragon of virtue, can the same be said for every atheist? Isn’t there a fear for the safety of our loved ones in a society where individuals lack a predisposition toward ethical behaviour and a definitive reference for what is right and wrong?

Some argue that morality has evolved alongside humans, but current observations paint a different picture. We witness social decay, soaring divorce rates, shattered family bonds, disrespect for parents, promotion of nudity, and ethical erosion where fundamental truths are now questioned. Boundaries in relationships blur: extramarital affairs, same-sex marriages, incest, child molestation, and unconventional unions are no longer frowned upon but dismissed as personal freedoms. The moral fabric is unravelling, challenging the very essence of our society.

These questions linger, underscoring the fundamental importance of a solid reference of morality as an essential facet of our shared humanity. One that is not altered through time and subject to different desires. It is the moral compass that guides us through the complexities of life, ensuring that kindness, empathy, and ethical conduct prevail. Without this intrinsic sense of right and wrong, society risks descending into chaos, where the very essence of human decency is called into question. Morality, rooted in our shared understanding of ethics and kindness, becomes the bedrock upon which our communities are built, reminding us of the universal values that bind us together as human beings.

    8. Sleep: The Spiritual Recharge

In the realm of human needs, sleep stands as an enigmatic yet essential requirement, akin to air, water, and food. Its vital importance is undeniable; prolonged deprivation can lead to delirium and, ultimately, death. Yet, in the intricate workings of our bodies and minds, the precise explanation for this necessity remains elusive, defying the quantifiable justifications that science often provides for our basic requirements. Here again, science explains the phenomena and the underlying physiology, but fails to justify Why things were decided to happen this way? And who is the decision maker? Why can’t the same effects happen during resting without sleep? And the numerous, still unexplained, phenomena that take place during deep sleep.

Why does the body crave deep sleep, a state so different from mere relaxation? Here, religion offers a perspective that transcends the physical realm. In Islam, sleep is termed the “Minor Death,” illuminating the profound spiritual dimension of this seemingly mundane activity. According to this perspective, a human being is not merely a union of body and mind but also possesses a spirit, a divine essence.

During sleep, the spirit ventures away from the mortal body, shedding the limitations of the physical world. It approaches the Divine, drawing from the divine source energy, tranquillity, love, and light. This ethereal journey serves as a recalibration, a spiritual recharge necessary for the well-being of the soul, just as the body requires nutrients for sustenance. In this sacred state, the spirit finds renewal, reconnecting with the cosmic energies that surround us.

Upon waking, a Muslim is encouraged to express gratitude to God for being “brought back to life” after this profound spiritual journey, acknowledging the divine mercy that allows the spirit to return to the mortal body and continue its earthly existence. This perspective on sleep transcends the boundaries of science, offering a profound insight into the holistic nature of human existence, where the body, mind, and spirit are intricately connected, each requiring its unique nourishment for the harmonious functioning of the whole being.

    9. Spiritual Phenomena: Exploring the Boundaries of Consciousness

Out-of-body experiences (OBEs) represent a fascinating and enigmatic phenomenon that challenges our understanding of consciousness and the nature of reality. In these extraordinary instances, individuals report a sensation of floating outside their physical bodies, observing themselves and their surroundings from a perspective detached from their corporeal form. While these experiences have been met with scepticism and intrigue, accounts from diverse cultures and time periods cannot be easily dismissed.

One compelling aspect of OBEs is the consistency in the narratives across different individuals, cultures, and ages. People from various backgrounds report similar sensations of floating, seeing their own bodies, and even observing events or objects beyond their immediate physical vicinity. These shared accounts provide a tantalizing glimpse into a realm beyond our conventional understanding, suggesting the existence of a consciousness that transcends the confines of the physical body.

Furthermore, scientific research on OBEs has yielded intriguing results. Studies involving near-death experiences (NDEs), a phenomenon often associated with OBEs, have revealed accounts of individuals encountering accurate and verifiable information while clinically dead, information that they could not have perceived through their ordinary senses. These instances challenge the conventional materialist view of the mind as solely a product of the brain, raising profound questions about the relationship between consciousness and the physical body.

While OBEs remain a subject of ongoing scientific investigation and philosophical contemplation, the wealth of anecdotal evidence, coupled with emerging findings from neuroscience and quantum physics, suggests that these experiences offer a tantalizing glimpse into the mysteries of human consciousness and the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and the universe. As our understanding of these phenomena deepens, they may pave the way for transformative shifts in our comprehension of existence and the fundamental nature of reality.

Telepathy, the mysterious phenomenon of mind-to-mind communication, challenges the boundaries of conventional understanding. Despite lacking scientific validation, countless anecdotes and experiences persist, suggesting a profound interconnectedness beyond our comprehension. Exploring the depths of human consciousness, telepathy raises intriguing questions about the nature of reality, bridging the gap between the known and the unexplained. While sceptics demand empirical proof, the enigma of telepathy continues to intrigue; urging us to reconsider the limits of human perception and connection.

Indeed, these and a number of other unexplained and immeasurable phenomena challenge the limitations of our senses and the capabilities of even the most advanced scientific instruments. They beckon us to consider a dimension beyond the material, one that eludes the constraints of scientific laws. In the face of these mysteries, we are compelled to explore the vast expanse of human consciousness, delving into realms where conventional understanding falters and the enigmatic dance of the unexplained unfolds. Embracing the unknown, we may uncover profound truths about the nature of existence, pushing the boundaries of our understanding and inviting a deeper connection with the mysteries of the universe.

    10. The Message: The Holy Quran

The origin and source of the Holy Quran stand as a profound testament to the existence of a Creator. For the majority of Muslims, the Quran transcends mere religious text; it is compelling evidence of divine presence. This belief isn’t rooted in ignorance or blind faith, but rather in the Quran’s transformative impact. Even renowned intellectuals, scientists, and former atheists have embraced Islam merely upon encountering its verses. Beyond the eloquence of its Arabic, which may elude non-Arabic speakers, the Quran’s power lies in its unparalleled depth: its timeless wisdom, intricate coherence, and foresight into scientific phenomena, all harmoniously woven together. It speaks to the heart and intellect alike, drawing seekers from diverse backgrounds into its compelling embrace, affirming the existence of an extraordinary Creator. Certainly, the Quran’s miraculous aspects are profound and multifaceted.

      1. The miraculous nature of the Quran goes beyond the wording. It resonates deeply with individuals, addressing their personal struggles, fears, and questions while offering universal solutions for society and humanity. Its profound impact is evident in the hearts and minds of millions, regardless of age or background. Many describe their encounter with Quran with: “The feeling that it was talking to me was overwhelming”.
      2. Equally astonishing is the Quran’s impeccable preservation which stands as a remarkable testament to its divine origin. Since its revelation to Prophet Muhammad PBUH, every letter, vowel, and pronunciation has been meticulously safeguarded and remained unchanged. This unparalleled preservation remains undisputed, with no one able to challenge or alter its authenticity. The entire Quran has been memorized by millions worldwide, transcending age and cultural boundaries. This memorization is so precise in its reading and pronunciation that a child from Indonesia could correct an Imam from Germany, demonstrating the Quran’s universal accessibility and consistency. The Quran’s resilience stands as an unassailable testament, a divine message that no force can erase from the fabric of human history.
      3. Indeed, the Quran’s mathematical structure is nothing short of extraordinary. It baffles the mind to consider that an unlettered man from 7th-century Arabia, devoid of modern technology and computers, could compose a 600-page book with such a complex mathematical framework. This intricate numerical design, interwoven within the verses, defies explanation through ordinary human means and goes far beyond the scope of human capability. The Quran stands as a compelling testament to its divine origin, challenging the very limits of human comprehension. This undeniable mathematical precision reinforces the belief among millions that the Quran is not merely a creation of man, but a divine revelation that transcends time and knowledge.
      4. The Quran, with its countless scientific, historical, and geographical accuracies, stands as an enigma that defies explanation. These facts, mentioned in the Quran, could not have been known or predicted by Prophet Muhammad PBUH, as evident in details such as addressing all worker bees as females in a chapter named “The Bees.” This fact, discovered centuries later, serves as one among many examples of the Quran’s prescient knowledge. The Quran accurately describes the phases of embryo formation, emphasizing the vital role of water in sustaining all living things. The Quran challenges traditional beliefs, detailing the sun’s dynamic movement along a trajectory (once thought stationary) around which planets orbit, in a universe constantly expanding. Moreover, it metaphorically portrays mountains as pegs, anchoring the Earth’s crust and providing stability, a concept modern geology affirms. Furthermore, the Quran delves into the intricate balance of different seas, highlighting a barrier where two seas meet, each with distinct properties. Remarkably, the Quran addresses the most intricate details, such as the insect living atop the mosquito, and even conceptualizes the essence of the Big Bang. While a myriad of such scientifically accurate details exist, it’s impossible to encompass them all within the confines of this article, underscoring the depth and breadth of the Quran’s profound insights. More importantly, the Quran withstands the test of time proving the validity of its doctrines, be they social, financial, political, or legislative, across epochs and cultures, as systems that establish healthy societies and nations.

Indeed, considering the aforementioned, a Creator emerges as the most straightforward and logical explanation for Quran’s divine origin. In contrast, science, despite its advancements, fails to provide any definitive evidence or plausible explanation regarding the Quran’s source. The Quran’s profound insights and impacts continue to confound and astound, pointing undeniably toward a Creator’s divine wisdom and knowledge.

      11. The Messenger: A Life and Journey Only Possible By A Prophet

Attempting to encapsulate the unparalleled life and journey of Prophet Muhammad PBUH within this article is, undoubtedly, a daunting task. However, it’s essential to illuminate a few key facets that underscore his credibility and truthfulness. Doubt cast upon a messenger inevitably raises questions about the authenticity of his message. By reflecting on these aspects, we gain insight into the extraordinary character of the Prophet and the undeniable truth of his message.

      1. Unwavering Honesty and Trustworthiness:

Among the plethora of accusations hurled at Prophet Muhammad PBUH by his pagan adversaries, the label of a liar never stuck. His honesty and integrity were well-established even before he received revelations, earning him the moniker “The Honest and Trustworthy.” This reputation persisted throughout his life, enduring even amidst 13 years of relentless hostility and ridicule in Makkah. Astonishingly, his enemies continued to entrust him with their valuables, a testament to their unwavering belief in his integrity. Even when he fled persecution and sought refuge in Madina, he ensured that every entrusted item was returned to its rightful owner. Such a man, whose unimpeachable character had been vouched for over 40 years, would not suddenly deviate into falsehood, concocting an imaginary message. His enemies, desperate to discredit him, resorted to baseless accusations, yet none could tarnish his unassailable reputation.

This unblemished character stands as a resounding testament to his authenticity, leaving no room for doubt or scepticism regarding the divine nature of his message.

      2. Noble Lineage and Selflessness:

Prophet Muhammad PBUH hailed from the most esteemed lineage in his region, his family tree intricately woven with noble ancestry. His stature in society was already distinguished, rendering him immune to the allure of additional prestige. His motivations were not rooted in a quest for wealth, kingship, or relationships, for all of these were proffered abundantly, offered in any quantity he desired, in exchange for abandoning his divine message. Yet, his response remained steadfast: By God, if they placed the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand on condition that I abandon this cause and renounce my task, verily I would not desist therefrom until Allah made manifest His cause or I perished in the attempt.”

      3. Prophetic Precision:

Prophet Muhammad PBUH uttered numerous prophecies, spanning short-term events within his lifetime to monumental occurrences in the distant future. Remarkably, every one of these predictions unfolded with unfailing accuracy. He foresaw individuals’ destinies, the outcomes of battles, shifts in political landscapes, societal transformations, and events marking the end of times. The scope of his foresight was awe-inspiring: the resurgence of the Byzantines, the global spread of Islam, he foretold the timing of the deaths of some of his closest companions, confidently prophesied the conquests by the Muslim forces, including those in Rome, Persia, Egypt, Yemen, India, and Constantinople.

He foresaw the passing of his own daughter, Fatimah, shortly after his death, as well as the first of his wives to follow him. He even prophesied the martyrdom of prominent figures like Umar and Uthman, the second and third Caliphs. Notably, he revealed the eternal damnation to Hell of his fiercest enemy, Abu Lahab, who stubbornly clung to his pride and refused to use the verses about his fate as an opportunity to discredit the Quran, as converting even insincerely could have cast doubt on the authenticity of the Revelation.

These prophetic statements, delivered with unwavering certainty, serve as a testament to the divine source of his message and his profound connection with the Creator.

      4. Miracles Before and After Prophethood:

From the very moment of his birth, miraculous events surrounded Prophet Muhammad, providing ample evidence of his divine mission. Throughout his life, he performed numerous miracles, each serving as a testament to his connection with the divine. Some of these miracles include:

The Splitting of the Moon: A remarkable event where the moon split into two distinct parts at his supplication, witnessed by numerous people.

Flow of Water from His Fingers: Prophet Muhammad was known to produce water simply by running his fingers over his palms, a miraculous act witnessed by many.

Multiplication of Food: On various occasions, he multiplied meager food supplies to feed large gatherings, showcasing his ability to provide abundantly from seemingly limited resources.

Isra and Miraj: The Night Journey and Ascension: An extraordinary spiritual journey where he travelled from Mecca to Jerusalem and then ascended through the heavens, meeting various prophets along the way.

Rainfall During Drought: His prayers brought much-needed rainfall during times of severe drought, providing relief to parched lands and grateful communities.

Revealing Hidden Knowledge: He often revealed hidden knowledge, displaying insights into events and matters that were previously unknown to others.

Healing: Prophet Muhammad possessed the ability to heal the sick, offering comfort and relief through his touch and prayers.

      5. The Impossibility of Authorship:

The notion of Prophet Muhammad being the author of the Quran is refuted by various compelling reasons. One crucial aspect is the distinct literary style present in his narrations and Hadith (sayings) as compared to the Quran. Extensive scientific studies have verified this disparity, reinforcing the unique nature of the Quranic language. Furthermore, the Quran portrays Prophet Muhammad in a profoundly humble light, reproaching him for not paying enough attention to a humble, blind seeker of knowledge while addressing the elites of his society. Unlike other self-proclaimed leaders, he didn’t seek attention or praise.

Moreover, his limited mentions in the Quran emphasize his authenticity. He is referred to by name only five times, in stark contrast to Jesus, mentioned 25 times, and Moses, mentioned 136 times. This modest representation underscores the Quran’s focus on its divine message rather than elevating the Prophet’s status. Additionally, Prophet Muhammad didn’t exploit personal tragedies for validation. When his beloved son passed away at the age of two, and a lunar eclipse occurred, people speculated that it was a celestial sign. The Prophet swiftly dismissed this, asserting, “The sun and the moon are signs of God and they do not eclipse for anyone’s birth or death.” This humility and refusal to exploit natural phenomena for personal gain counter any claim of imposture, reinforcing the Quran’s divine origin. His humility shines through in his refusal to claim he’ll return to lead the world at the end of time; instead, he acknowledges that Jesus will take on this role, and it’s yet another claim to the authenticity of the Holy Scripture. Also mentioned previously is the mathematically and linguistically complex structure of the Holy Quran, a feat impossible to accomplish by one person, or even a group, let alone an illiterate, without the support of computer systems. The complexity is to a degree that fascinates even a constant reader of the book as it seems to unravel novel perceptions almost with every reading.

Despite continuous attempts to tarnish his reputation, the Prophet’s followers only grow, ready to sacrifice everything for their love and faith in him.

      12. The Enduring Marvel of Islam:

Unity Beyond Borders and Truth Beyond Doubt

The remarkable phenomenon of an ideology emerging 1400 years ago, presenting a comprehensive and integrated system of life that touches every facet of human existence, is truly awe-inspiring. If anything, it attests to the fallacy of the claims that it was spread by the sword. It stands as a robust, global force, uniting diverse cultures under a shared belief system, values, and rituals. This ideology is encapsulated in a 600-page book, memorized by millions, fostering an unparalleled brotherhood and sisterhood amongst strangers spanning continents from Asia to Europe, Africa to the Americas. It’s a phenomenon where a person from China can correct an Imam from the UK on even the smallest mistake in Quranic recitation, demonstrating a depth of unity that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.

The remarkable aspect of this religion lies in its regulations, which govern human lives on both individual and societal scales, ensuring the well-being and benefit of humanity. Surprisingly, there exists no definitive and continuous scientific evidence proving any harm caused by these regulations to individuals or groups. Designing a legal system for a single nation, inhabited by millions, is an incredibly intricate task that often results in laws proving flawed, incomplete, or unjust. Such systems undergo continuous revisions, acknowledging their imperfections. Now, consider a system established over 23 years, meticulously addressing every aspect of an individual’s life from daily routines to major life events, including intricate details like how to handle awakening and restroom usage, childhood, youth, marriage, family, work, and even burial rites. This system encompasses laws pertaining to work, trade, economics, politics, diplomacy, wars, social life, and various demands. Astonishingly, this intricate framework has endured for over 1,400 years, remaining unchanged and attracting an increasing number of followers. Its sustained relevance stands as a miraculous testament, requiring profound submission and faith in Islam.

A remarkable aspect of this religion lies in its regulations, which govern human lives on both individual and societal scales, ensuring the well-being and benefit of humanity. Surprisingly, no definitive and persistent scientific evidence ever came out proving any harm caused by these regulations to individuals or groups. Designing a governing system for a single country, inhabited by millions, is an incredibly intricate task that takes hundreds of years to build often resulting in laws proving flawed, incomplete, or unjust. Such systems undergo continuous revisions, acknowledging their imperfections. Now, consider a system established over 23 years only, meticulously addressing every aspect of an individual’s life from daily routines to major life events, including intricate details like how to handle awakening and restroom usage, childhood, youth, marriage, family, work, and even burial rites. This system encompasses laws pertaining to work, trade, economics, politics, diplomacy, wars, social life, and various demands. Astonishingly, this intricate and holistic framework has endured for over 1,400 years, remaining unchanged and attracting an increasing number of followers. Its sustained relevance stands as a miraculous testament, requiring profound submission and faith in Islam.

Equally astonishing is its ability to organize millions of total strangers from all corners of the Earth into perfectly aligned rows within minutes to perform prayer. What’s more, this ideology has not only endured but has also gained momentum, standing as the religion with the highest rate of converts, a significant portion of whom are women. This fact challenges prevailing misconceptions about Islam being spread by the sword or oppressing women, showcasing the religion’s universal appeal and empowerment.

This enduring strength, attracting people from all corners of the globe, from the humblest to the most influential, speaks volumes. The scepticism and animosity that greeted Islam from prominent figures, including kings, professors, and high-ranking government officials in the US and Europe, transformed into staunch advocacy. Such a transformation defies explanation unless one considers the authenticity of the message and the truth of the messenger. It stands as a living testament, a miracle in itself, attesting to the profound truth embedded within this faith and the unwavering strength of its message.

The collective of all the aforementioned circumstantial evidence means that to conceive of any other explanation than the existence of a Creator requires a level of absurdity that strains reason. What baffles me most is the fervent resistance of atheists to the mere possibility of a Creator. They are willing to embrace explanations rooted in illogical foundations, riddled with weaknesses, as long as these explanations exclude the notion of a God and an Afterlife. Even their argument about the injustice in the world, questioning how a benevolent God could allow harm to befall children, is paradoxical. This dilemma rests on the denial of a God, an Afterlife, and the eventual day of ultimate justice. It’s a self-contradictory stance, a loop of flawed reasoning.

Ironically, as Dr. Hamza Yusuf aptly observes, it is the atheists who seem to be preoccupied with God more than believers. They consistently bring up the issue of His existence, circling back to a topic they claim not to believe in. Their vehement rejection of a Creator becomes, in itself, a testament to the Creator’s omnipresence in their thoughts and discussions. The very act of denying God seems to underscore His omnipresence, paradoxically making Him a central figure in their contemplations, even in their disbelief.

Contrary to the misconceptions held by some atheists, religion, particularly Islam, does not discourage intellectual engagement; rather, it actively promotes it. In Islam, the obligation to learn, ponder, think critically, analyse, and, above all, READ is not just encouraged but mandated. This emphasis on knowledge is embedded in the very core of Islam. The first word of the Revelation was “READ,” setting the tone for the significance of learning. The very first university was established by a Muslim woman. In Islamic history, the leading scientists were often religious scholars, marrying the realms of religion and scientific inquiry. Throughout the Quran, there are continuous calls to seek knowledge, ponder deeply, observe the world, and reflect on its intricacies. Questions like “Will they not understand?” and “Will they not think?” resound in various verses, highlighting the imperative nature of intellectual exploration. Additionally, the Quran is replete with statements urging understanding and learning, emphasizing the profound link between faith and knowledge.

This commitment to knowledge is further exemplified in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who elevated scientists and teachers to a revered status above others. His traditions continually emphasized the pursuit of knowledge and science, underscoring the vital role of intellect and learning in the practice of faith. This holistic approach not only celebrates intellectual curiosity but also intertwines it with the essence of religious devotion, debunking the myth that religion and intellect are at odds.

While the pursuit of scientific understanding is essential, it should never lead to arrogance, blinding individuals from acknowledging the evident truth and the divine order that governs existence. Humility in the face of the vast mysteries of the universe is crucial, reminding us of the limits of human comprehension and the profound wisdom of a higher power.

In this article, I have endeavoured to present a panoramic view, although the depth of each category mentioned could fill volumes. Striving to keep the article within reasonable length, I have provided a condensed yet comprehensive exploration. Consider this my humble attempt to capture the profound essence within limited confines.

Lastly, it’s worth noting the significant shifts in belief among renowned atheists, including the notable case of the world’s most notorious atheist, Antony Garrard Newton Flew, an English philosopher associated with the analytic and evidentialist schools of thought. Famous for his book ‘There is No God,’ Flew, after a lifetime of atheism, changed his stance in a 2004 interview, expressing belief in an intelligent designer of the universe. At the age of 81, he renounced his staunch atheism, identifying as a Deist. Later, he published a book titled ‘There is No A God,’ marking his transformation and re-evaluation of his beliefs.

Thank you for your attention. Any errors within these words are solely my own limitations, while any merit found in this material is undoubtedly a result of Allah’s blessings.

        No Real Atheist !!

The biggest evidence to the absurdity of the notion of atheism are the atheists.  And they, themselves, are its biggest skeptics!!

        If atheists genuinely believed that…

        • Existence of a Creator is just a myth…
        • There is no life and no judgement after death…
        • Their existence is not associated with a purpose…

Given that life, for the most part and for most people, is ordinarily a series of continuous challenges, some more difficult than others, and actual good/happy times are less than the hardships…

Wouldn’t it be valid to suggest that most atheists should ideally end their own lives?…

Especially upon confronting any event of ailment, poverty, death/suffering of a loved one…

There’s logically no reason for them to carry on living when they can end their misery.

Moreover, why don’t they end the life of their loved ones who are very elderly and in pain, handicapped to a huge extent and miserable with their lives, terminally ill with statistics showing no hope for recovery.  Because they then would be doing them, and their caregivers, a huge favor.

        Why endure suffering?

Since survival is for the fittest, and the planet’s resources are becoming scarcer, why wouldn’t a council pick and choose the elite, who are worthy of survival and would produce “better humans”, and eliminate the unproductive, the weak, the anomalies?

If someone throws here the excuse of “Survival Instinct”, he would have to explain “Instinct” and the initial source of that instinct !!

        Undoubtedly a Creator

Of the myriad of testimonies to the existence of a Creator, the ones I believe to be the most compelling are:

        1-    Infinite variety:

Ordaining that no two creatures are entirely identical.

Laws of science imply that similar inputs produce similar output. When two elements interact, they produce the same result.  When molecular hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) react together, under similar conditions, they form either water or hydrogen peroxide, not an array of different compounds.  Yet what we witness in life is a boundless variety of creations in: kind, species, look, details, fingerprint, retinal print, DNA, even attitude, personality, aspirations, weaknesses, and creativity.  We’re not even looking at a limited variety; we’re talking inconceivable diversity.  Identical twins are not really identical, though coming from the same mother, father, womb, diet and surrounding conditions, even egg and sperm (i.e. DNA).  They remain distinguished in countless aspects, not just one or two.

        Some relevant compelling questions then:

        • How were these variations caused?
        • Why weren’t humans created sexless?
        • Why weren’t they created as replicas? Producing abundant quantities of the same just to populate Earth and perform whatever their intended functions are.
        • What is the aim/purpose behind diversity? Why bother create more than one distinct identity (in the case of identical twins), and an unlimited number of creatures (in the case of the universe in general)? Again, the variation is not limited to one, two or even a few attributes.  It’s amazingly countless.

The easy alternative scenario could’ve been identical productions of a finite number of species, each with own functions in the life cycle.

There has to be an instigator/force that caused the output to diversify despite coming from the same inputs. The varieties, known and unknown, ancient, currently existing and yet to exist, in creatures of all kinds are just unfathomable.  No one can claim to know them all, let alone fully understand even the most primitive of them.

Logically, Whatever/Whoever is causing the variations (the instigator) has the “Will” and “Intent”, the “Intelligence” and “Knowledge”, and immense “Creativity” to do so, such that these variations are not anomalies or defective copies.  Creatures in each biological kind are relatively equivalent in overall capacities and features, yet unique in boundless facets.  It’s as if their “Creator” intends it as yet another evidence of His power of creation.  Not only did He create the whole universe, He continues to amaze us with new distinct creations Every Single Day!!

        2-    Beauty:

        Wonderment and Delight in Observing

The Creator of all beings has both an astounding degree of creativity, as well as an inclination for captivating beauty.  Beauty perceived in almost everything, in the design, motion dynamics, details, colors, complementary functionality between beings, flavors, smells and texture.  Beauty that artists were only able to devise, and only learned, by observing and emulating other creations.  The colors of flowers, birds and leaves.  The geometry in a Spider’s web, and the bird’s nest.   Awe inspiring beauty that amazes, dazes, inspires, and deeply moves us to the core as we observe the creatures in the sky, on land and under water.  No justification and nothing in all the laws of science dictates beauty or requires it in any product, nor does lack of it impair functionality.  Creatures could simply be ordinary looking machines/robots that don’t necessarily look good yet perform their intended functions.

Beauty is instead a “Choice”, a “Decision” by the Beautiful Creator of things and beings.

        3-    Instinct:

The innate, basic knowledge every living creature is born with.

What/Who is the source of knowledge observed in the behaviors of newborns from the first instance of their life? Nature is not a living thing.  It doesn’t possess knowledge and isn’t capable of creating nor passing it on. Offspring of several types of species are not “taught” anything by the parent, because the mother dies immediately after giving birth.  So how did they learn to survive, fly, swim, feed, create structures, build a web, without a teacher passing it on to them? Where did their initial knowledge come from?  Where did the unbelievable amount of data found in our DNA come from when nature itself is a non-intelligent creation?

These three things alone necessitate a Creator possessing essential elements:

1-    A Will to create such infinite diversity

2-    Knowledge to do so and to instill bits of this knowledge within every newborn living creature

        3-    Unimaginable Creativity (A designer)

4-    Inclination for Beauty that gives us a testimony to the existence of an “All Knowing”, Beautiful Creator with every single creation that comes to be every second of every day

5-    The Power to make this all happen

Every creature is intended as a miracle, proof of a Creator, and an inspiration.

To conceive of any other explanation than the existence of a Creator takes a ridiculous amount of absurdity.  And what I find completely inexplicable is how vehemently atheists refuse the possibility of a Creator.  They’re willing to take any illogically founded explanation, as full of weaknesses as it may be, except the notion of a God and a Hereafter.  Even the dilemma they put forward for injustice in the world and if there was a God how can He allow bad things to happen to children is based on a fallacy of denying a God, a Hereafter and the ultimate justice day!!  It’s a self-contradictory statement.

Ironically enough, as Dr. Hamza Yusuf puts it, it is the atheists that have God on their mind more than believers, they tend to bring up the issue of His existence a lot more.

As mentioned, there are boundless evidences to His existence in every single one of His creations and in most facets of life.  It’s unimaginable how a logical human would not accept that a glass of water can just exist on his table without someone crafting the glass, pouring water into it, and putting it there, yet they are willing to concede the existence of this unfathomable universe, as baffling, precise, and managed as it is, without a Creator.

Atheists subject God to the rules and laws known of this life, even though He created them.  Nonetheless, if we still go along and apply them, let’s ponder upon on a few issues.

        • Order: Monitoring, Management, and Rectification

This extremely precise, orderly and systematic way each individual creature, and the universe as a whole, runs must be controlled and managed by a magnificent All-Knowing All-Encompassing power. It can’t be an unplanned sequence of events.  Every system established by man (e.g. machines, governments, production lines, health systems, schools, etc. ) has a manager or a parallel mechanism that performs the checks and balances, controls and monitors it to ensure it operates/runs properly and correct any mistakes should it deviate from normal/intended path.  We’re living by this law of life daily.  We also cannot assume each entity or part is managed separately, else systems would clash.  Consequently, every creation is managed separately, concurrently, and collectively with all other systems/creations in perfect harmony and integration.  A symphony orchestrated so majestically and beautifully we can only observe it play before us in complete awe, unless we’re blind-hearted. Can you imagine what that would require in workforce, intelligence, plus organizational, decision-making management capacity?!!!

        • Accountability & Justice:

The Destination, Ultimate Judgement and Retribution.

Every human system that exists applies the rules of accountability in almost every facet in life, ever since we were children, at home, in school, college, at work.. etc.  So, in the holistic life-system, does it make sense that we don’t get held accountable for how good or bad we are? If not, where’s the justice in that? What could possibly motivate us to excel and do more in charity and kindness? What compels us to go above and beyond the basic law-enforced duties and do the right thing? On the flip side, what’s to stop us from stealing, killing, being mean, spiteful, jealous, tyrant if we can evade getting caught?

How can you possibly ask someone who’s been badly mistreated to not seek revenge without waiting for an incompetent or manipulatable human-created justice system?  How can a person forgive someone for killing or hurting his child or loved-one had he no faith that ultimately justice shall be done?  How would you accept that a tyrant (in any form) that succeeded in escaping punishment throughout his life, even died a normal death, will never be accountable for his wrong doings?  Wouldn’t this be the ultimate injustice!!

        • Purpose: The “Why” question.

Every object and living thing that exists in our life serves a purpose in the wholistic life system, so what is the purpose of ours?  How can we assume that everything has been created for a purpose except us? Why do we even bother to get up in the morning and work, if we’re eventually going to die and it totally ends our journey?  Having absolutely no purpose or believing there is nothing else comes after this temporary life, would cause all kinds of moral catastrophes, eventually leading to the quick demise and extinction of humans.  For example, what would stop society from “ridding itself” of the non-productive elderly, totally handicapped or the terminally ill, and ease their, and society’s suffering? Why can’t the answer to any struggle in life be to end it altogether painlessly, if we were to assume this whole life is for nothing, no purpose, no creator, no accountability whatsoever, and no afterlife?  What motivates us to continue living, working hard, getting up in the morning, if all was in vain?

        • Morality: Ethics & kindness

What is our source of morality? Atheists sometimes argue that we can be non-believers yet conduct ourselves in the highest ethical standards.  True, but…

Who’s to say or decide what’s right or wrong? Where is the reference if not religion?  From the days of Cane and Abel, why was it deemed unacceptable/sinful to kill another? Where did we get that incest and adultery are forbidden? Why would people get married when they can just fulfill their desires like animals, out in the open, with whoever, or whatever for that matter.  Where did the laws of conduct come from?  And let’s say you happen to be a civilized, well-balanced, ethical human, don’t you think there are very bad atheists, with absolutely no moral inclination?  Wouldn’t you then fear for your children, daughter, sister, mother, the elderly? How would the society look like when people have no predisposition and absolute reference as to what’s right and wrong?

        • Sleep: The spiritual recharge.

What’s the explanation for man’s vital need for deep sleep just like his need for air, water and food, from which a prolonged deprivation would lead to delirium and madness, eventually death?… There is yet no substantiated quantifiable physical or physiological justification/process that the scientists or doctors could accurately pinpoint as in the case of the body’s need for food, drink or air…  Why can’t the body perform during relaxation-only what it can perform during deep sleep?

God explained this very simply by calling sleep the “Minor Death”… (In Islam)

A human is made up of three components, not two like previously assumed, the body, mind and spirit.  The body and mind have their needs and so does the spirit.  As in death, the spirit proceeds during sleep time to depart the mortal body, with its physical needs and biological limitations, to approach the Divine Being and draw from Him its needs of energy, tranquility, love and light… Then, unless the sleeper’s ordained lifespan is over, the spirit will return to that mortal body to continue living.  The spirit needs this recalibration and recharge just like the body needs nutrients.

That’s why when a Muslim wakes up, he is encouraged to be thankful to God for “bringing him back to life, after having taken it away during sleep”.

        • Physical Evidence & Answers

Atheists argue that religion does not give us tangible proof or answers to all questions.  Well, neither does science.  In fact, relying on science only to explain life poses more unanswered questions, and replies that don’t add up.  Yet atheists are willing to bet their lives and their infinite Ever-after on science, a creation in itself, with all its laws, dynamics and theories, rather than bet on The One who created such laws and sciences.  A bet that, should it prove to be wrong, would bring on them unimaginable grave consequences and eternal loss; much more than what a believer stands to lose in case he got it wrong.  This is not to say that atheists should “pretend to believe”, as they can’t fool themselves or God.  But it is to say that any small amount of ego, worldly influences, trends, challenges, desires or attractions, should be put aside, and a strong, sincere quest for information to answer this question should be undertaken.  Eternity is not to be risked, taken lightly, or ignored for the benefit of momentary, worldly, concerns.

They ask, “so who created God?”.  A question that totally contradicts calling Him “The Creator of all things”.

They also say that the only truth in life is that there is no truth.  Again, a sentence that is self-contradictory.

Contrary to what some atheists think, religion does NOT want you to negate your intellectual faculties, in fact it’s the absolute opposite.  Never has the obligation to learn, ponder, think, analyze and above all READ, been more stressed than it is in Islam.  I say obligation because it is presented as such in Islam.  The very first word of the Revelation was “READ”.  The call to learn, seek knowledge, ponder, observe, reflect, the exclamations “Will they not Understand?” “Will they not think?”, the statements similar in meaning to “So that they learn” “So that they know”, these all occur in abundance in the Quran in every chapter.  This, along with numerous traditions from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) calling to seek knowledge and science, putting the scientists and teachers in an exalted status above other people.

        Quran Ch:1

God says in the Quran that of all the believers, it is scientists that have the most fear of God (having known His Power and Abilities through the study of His Creations).  Of course, here we’re talking about scientists who are humble enough to admit, not those who perceive that science made them all powerful and too big to bow to a Creator, how little they become when they’re that inflated!

This is a Creator that gave us the blessing of mind and intellect and wants us to use it, making it a major sin to intoxicate it, or to any degree intently use anything to reduce mindfulness and optimum presence of senses.  This is a Creator that wants you to be smart, diligent, and seek truth, because sought objectively and sincerely, it would definitely lead you to find Him.

The Ink of a Scholar is More Sacred Than The Blood of a Martyr

One cannot till this day claim absolute and wholesome knowledge of every detail concerning the tiniest/simplest of creatures.  Yet, so arrogantly, many rise very confidently to discuss and question the power, wisdom, knowledge and even existence of the Creator.

Ego is rightfully placed amongst the biggest sins because it causes us to perceive ourselves as being much bigger and more knowledgeable than we actually are.

Yet, as insignificant as we are compared to the universe, our ego becomes so inflated with the minute amount of science we’ve come to learn that the first thing we decide to do is to challenge our Creator and deny His existence.  Asking Him to prove Himself to us over and over, disregarding all the existing stark testimonies.  Man is just created so argumentative.

        Spiritually..

Faith is an innate need and urge.. He is in no need for us, it is We who need Him.  We need to believe in the Great Creator that has brought us to being, and to hold on to faith in order to rest our, otherwise, troubled and lost souls trying to answer questions like who are we, and what is the purpose of all of this? And… What next?!!

This is particularly evident in times of severe and sudden psychological trauma, fear, or despair, when one gets freed from all reservations, and acts in absolute spontaneity.  This is when even atheists find themselves begging for God’s Help and Mercy.
It is also the reason behind the noticeable tranquility, calmness in demeanor, peace and contented smile observed in people of strong faith.  It is not attributed to wealth as it’s found with the poorest!  Those who have strong, unshaken conviction based on knowledge and research feel certain they have found the last piece in the hugely complex puzzle of their spirituality that “Clicked” in place, causing them to experience satisfaction in wholesomeness and clarity, and are therefore relieved, reassured, and calm at last.  They amazingly find privilege in calamity, knowing that hardships are God’s way of purifying a person of sins, evolving us into much stronger,
more insightful and ethical humans, reminding the soul of its Creator, keeping it grounded not overtaken by ego, bringing it closer to Him and the warmth of His Mercy and Care.

Those that live without holding on to believing in God, on the other hand, mostly live in anxiety and restlessness, as reported by many ex-atheists who felt lost, confused, and in immense need for guidance.  Looking at the numerous incidents of the rich and famous who apparently had it all, yet took their own lives away.  What was missing?

        You know what makes sense?

It is that we are here for a purpose, there is a Creator, this life is but a short phase that passes so quickly no matter how long we live, and we shall have to face all our deeds, good or bad, someday!!

God regards the pious amongst us in a status higher than angels for having willingly chosen to worship Him and seek first and foremost His pleasure, as unlike angels who have no will, no ability to choose and no desires other than obeying God, we had to struggle against all our desires and inclinations to indulge.

The stakes are just too high to ignore this matter.  Read, research, learn, ask (pray) with all sincerity for guidance and truth, approach the topic with a totally open and unbiased mind, and above all, with humility.  Humble yourself enough to conceive a possibility of a Creator that you should ask for help.  And finally, put your ego, worldly considerations and other peoples’ influences aside.

God neither wins nor loses anything with or without you on His side. You stand to lose Everything, and Eternally This is life’s most important project.

We only get one chance, one Worldly lifetime, it shouldn’t be wasted!!

How Can it Be All Good?

How can all the pain, suffering, calamities, grief, challenges be to our benefit?

This is something that most people struggle to understand and appreciate.

        Let’s start with this analogy:

You can either choose to study medicine (also law in the case of the US), and spend long years of arduous work, sleepless nights and tremendous stress, in order to eventually secure a lucrative future and guaranteed income.  Or, you can choose an easier, quicker-to-finish discipline such as Arts and Humanities but then go through life on average income, with the risk of potentially being unable at certain stages to generate income or find a job.  Most would wish they could go through the painstaking journey of studying medicine had they the resources of cleverness and financial support realizing the eventual rewards that come with it, and no one can criticize them or wrong them for that.  They need the struggle in order for their knowledge, wisdom and skills to develop and become adequate enough to undertake the responsibility of tampering with human life at such direct level.

Same can be applied to life struggles in general.  Paradise is an unimaginable bliss.  It’s a place where people live as the Quran describes: “(15:47) And [by then] We shall have removed whatever unworthy thoughts or feelings may have been [lingering] in their breasts, [and they shall rest] as brethren, facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness.”    We are only able to reach that state of purity of heart, lack of any worldly desires or feelings after we have been through suffering and difficult trials.  Very mistaken is he who thinks this life is about finding happiness, or that REAL happiness in every sense of the word even exists in this life.  This phase is all about preparation and elevation to become worthy of Paradise.  Not allowed to enter Paradise are those who still have inside, to any extent, any of the worldly character diseases/faults such as greed, envy, jealousy, deception, ego, etc.  The community that will populate Paradise will be that of the highest ethical and spiritual level, otherwise it wouldn’t be Paradise.  A level we cannot be elevated to except by going through trials, struggles, pain, challenges, till we recognize how petty are things that otherwise dazzle our sight.

How happy are we when we finally reach the level of fitness and the physique we’ve always dreamed of, even though we had to work at it for many many hours, and suffer pains, sometimes injuries.  Yet we gladly embrace all of that having set in front of us the target.  In a similar manner we should embrace what we have to go through in life in order to achieve a target of eternal bliss.  I always say that if Paradise was only about never ever experiencing worry, pain, fear, hunger, grief, etc., then that alone qualifies as eternal bliss regardless of the infinitely other promised bounties.

Going back to the initial question… How can it be all good?

Going through the hardships in life has four aspects/benefits:

        • Erasing sins we have committed in the past, purifying our souls of the heavy burden of guilt and remorse. This grants us entry to Paradise making us worthy of such a place.
        • Elevating our status in Paradise, with all the privileges that come with that. Even though so many people will find their way to Paradise, no fair system of judgement should grant those who struggled more, gave more to others, lived a life of altruism, the same status and rewards as those who did the bare minimum.  Remembering that in Paradise things will last eternally, one should strive to the best of his ability to achieve the best possible status.  This has to take precedence over any worldly possessions, home or status, since, at longest, they will last for only a 100 years!!  Ask anyone in their 80s, how long life seemed they’d say it passed so fast as if they lived for only a handful of years.  And life IS really a very brief transitional stage of existence, yet we worry more about it, are obsessed with achieving success in it, when the real goal should be ETERNITY !!
        • Elevating us spiritually, giving us the wisdom and sound vision to see life as it really is, to shrink all people and things back to their actual sizes, to come to know what is important and worth our time and effort and what is a total waste of both, to release us of all future worries and anxieties realizing that there’s only so much we can do and we are NOT IN CONTROL, to ground us against inflated ego putting our achievements in correct perspective for what they’re worth, to free us from obsessing and excessively holding on to people, and things in this life no matter how dear they are to us when we realize we shall all be reunited again one day, surrendering to the Will of Our Creator and Sustainer knowing that we can only see so far ahead of us whereas He Sees All and is the All Knowing of what’s best for us even when we THINK we do.
        • Giving us more strength and confidence than we had before. It’s just like physical workouts, no pain no gain, more rigorous exercise regimen yields stronger muscles and endurance.

People who suffer one or more very painful experiences especially the loss of a loved one, and I’m one of them, often come to see the wisdom of what they went through.  They eventually find a level of tranquility, serenity, free from worries, that they have never experienced before in life.  So much so that challenges become a welcome experience as they result in more self-development than any one study program.

“(2:216) it may well be that you hate a thing the while it is good for you, and it may well be that you love a thing the while it is bad for you: and God knows, whereas you do not know.

They say OMG!!… I say: Bring it on!!

        A Perspective on Praying

Today, my son apologized for “being too pushy”, nagging me to read a story he had written.  He said it’s only because my feedback is important to him.  I was not annoyed of course.  On the contrary, it made me very happy because, if anything, his nagging meant he acknowledges my expertise and skills in the field and values my feedback.  My opinion matters considerably to him, and that’s a very gratifying feeling that any parent can identify with.

His words gave me an insight into one of the reasons praying to God is of paramount importance, and why God loves that we pray and send requests to the point of nagging/insisting.

Some misrepresent God’s urging us to pray to be a self-satisfying need to feel greatness or power.  Well firstly, no being of such magnitude and powers would “need” the acknowledgement of us, the most insignificant creations.  He would be more concerned with the much grander creations (planets, galaxies, the whole universe) praying to Him (and we know they do!!).  It is we that need that.

Praying and asking God for forgiveness, for Him to be happy with you, or even for some worldly rewards, is actually a combination of the following:

        • Acknowledgement of His existence, powers and control over everything. And that nothing can happen or exist except by His wish and command.  It’s a declaration of Belief.
        • Demonstration of a need for Him.
        • Expression of concern and valuation of what He thinks.

It is a proof by deeds, not empty words, that you truly believe in Him, just in the same way that love cannot be substantiated merely with words.

A man tells a woman “he loves her”, yet she never hears from him.  She calls him 5 times a day, he dismisses the calls justifying that by replying that he’s too busy or has important meetings, he’s going out with friends, etc..  Can she still believe him? Wouldn’t she naturally question his love? Even breakup with him?! All she asked for was for him to at least call her for 5 minutes, five times a day, to tell her he remembers her, needs her, she means the world to him, and is everything in his life.  That’s the minimum a lover is expected to do.

Your employer continuously pays your salary, bonus, and other wonderful rewards.  You totally ignore his orders, are not on-time for meetings, you don’t report to him, nor even acknowledge his existence, let alone authority and judgement.  You go as far as disobeying his orders.  Isn’t it normal for him to dispense your services?!  You’re basically telling him you don’t need the money nor the position.

There is, above all that, a spiritual need for us to pray.  There’s a constantly nagging feeling when we don’t pray that we’re neglecting something important, duties, that we’re going to be accountable for!!  Our souls remain restless.

I heard once a very compelling deduction on “sleeping” (another one of science’s shortcomings of explaining why we need to sleep).  The human consists of two things: the physical body, and the soul/spirit.  The physical body’s needs are essentially the food, water and exercise.

The soul, on the other hand, has different types of needs that are equally crucial.  One of them is “sleep”!

Sleep-deprivation leads to all kinds of issues, from weight gain to a weakened immune system, and even eventually death. And after decades of research and discoveries, the answer to the “Why we need to sleep?” is essentially not answered yet.  While it’s easy, for example, to explain the need for eating being the means to obtain the necessary nutrients, it’s not the same with sleep.  It’s not clear why the outcome of sleeping can’t happens while in the wake state.  Or what in essence is the difference between the wake and sleep states.

Islam explains “sleep” as being a form of death, calls it a “minor death”, during which the soul leaves the body and this realm, and floats to another.  The soul needs to make this separation every night, to evade this material existence, in order to rest, reset and recharge spiritually, coming closer to its Creator.  Afterwards, it either returns back to the body (if the person has more time to live) or doesn’t, and he’s declared medically dead.

This is one of the needs of the soul.  Another, is the need for the connection/communication with its Creator through prayer and supplication.  It greatly comforts the weary and anxious soul.

He needs our prayer?!  A being that created such an unfathomable universe with all its creatures, the ones we know and the much more we have yet to know, needs us tiny little beings to acknowledge that he’s powerful?! Really?!!

It is we that need to reach out to Him and draw ourselves closer to Him.  And He Knows that, because He created us and is merely telling us how to live our lives in the manner that brings us happiness and serenity.

Dear Atheist.. Let’s talk logic !!

        31c3f4e995f0eeefaf1420c273f14666

Ego is rightfully placed amongst the biggest sins because it causes us to perceive ourselves as being much bigger and more knowledgeable than we actually are, when viewing life and the world..
We’re smaller than a speck of dust compared to the universe, and our knowledge, yet smaller.  There is no justification, nor historical reference for that matter, for thinking that we’ve reached a stage where we KNOW IT ALL.  Nonetheless, we’re driven by our ego that causes us to demand of the Creator, controller, and motion-organizer of this vast universe to give us a proof of His existence and power .. as if all the miracles that exist in our own selves and everything around us are not enough!

        Spiritual-wise:  (if you’re spiritually-oriented then..)

Faith is a need and urge that exists in our innate nature.. He is in no need for us, it is WE who need Him, we need to believe in the Great Creator that has brought us to being, and to hold on to faith in order to rest our, otherwise, troubled souls.. this need keeps nagging upon us.  We feel otherwise lost trying to answer questions like who are we, and what is the purpose of all of this? And… What next?!!

This is particularly evident in times of severe and sudden psychological trauma, fear, or despair, when one gets freed from all reservations, and acts in absolute spontaneity.  This is when even atheists find themselves begging for God’s Help and Mercy.
It is also the reason behind the noticeable tranquility, calmness in demeanor, peace and contented smile observed in people of strong faith and religion.  It is not attributed to wealth as it’s found even with the poorest of people, definitely not because they enjoy a good retirement system!  This calmness is especially unmistakable is Muslims, because they know they got it right. They amazingly find privilege in calamity, knowing that hardships are God’s way of purifying a person of sins, reminding the soul of its Creator, keeping it grounded, not overtaken by ego yet again, bringing it closer to Him and the warmth of His Mercy and Care.

Those that live without holding on to believing in God, on the other hand, mostly live in anxiety and restlessness, as reported by many ex-atheists who felt lost, confused, and in immense need for guidance.

        Proof-wise:  (if you’re science-oriented)

The proofs to the existence of God are countless and in abundance, in every single one of His creations.  It’s unexplainable how a logical human would not accept that a glass of water can exist without someone making it, yet they are willing to concede the existence of this unfathomable universe without a Creator.

Atheists argue that religion does not give us tangible proof or answers to every single thing.  Well, science fails to, and is not able to, answer all questions.  It remains incapable of providing explanations for numerous things.  Yet atheists are willing to bet their lives and the Ever-after on it, rather than bet on religion which presents far more evidence on the existence of a Creator.

They ask, so who created God? Which totally contradicts with calling Him a Creator.

This is exactly why God says in the Quran that of all the believers, it is scientists that have the most fear of God (having known His Power and Abilities through the study of His Creations).  Of course here we’re talking about the scientists who are humble enough to admit it, not those who perceive that science made them all powerful and too big to bow to a Creator, how little they become when they’re that inflated!  And that is why we witness many atheist scientists converting to Islam (being the most logical religion).

        Business-wise:   (if you’re business and profitability-oriented)

        Consider the following:

        • Around 7% of the World’s population only are Atheists (around half of which are in China, the second biggest majority in Russia, both countries influenced by their regimes into adopting atheism.  Both seeing a conversion movement.).  So wouldn’t probability suggest that 93% are more likely to be right?  And why is it that most of the elite scientists are not atheists?
        • Science is still unable to answer many critical questions (After life, soul, purpose of life, origin of universe, and many many more. Religion also does not answer some questions, which are considered kept by the All-Knowing for purposes unknown to us, but also gives us some answers to questions science can’t.  Yet, you’d rather risk your whole life on science, a created being in itself with all its laws, mechanics and theories, rather than place your bet on the one that created science?
        • Considering above arguments, associated risk in both scenarios, and probability that greatly favors the likelihood that God exists, ask yourself:

        What if you were wrong?!!

What you stand to lose here far exceeds what a person of faith would lose if he discovered he was wrong.

        Logic-wise:

        • Accountability: Atheism is mostly favored by certain people to escape accountability and the fact that this gives them endless freedom to do what they desire without fear of consequences (repercussion).  But think about this… Every human system that exists applies the rules of accountability, ever since we were children, at home, in school, college, at work.. etc.  So, in the holistic life-system, are we not accountable for how good or bad we are? And if not, what could possibly motivate us to excel and do more in charity and kindness? What compels us to go above and beyond our basic law-enforced duties and do the right thing? On the flip side, what stops us from being obnoxious?
        • Purpose: Every object that exists in our life has a purpose, so what is the purpose of ours? Why do we even bother to get up in the morning and work?
        • Morality: What is our source of morality? Atheists sometimes argue that we can be non-believers yet conduct ourselves in the highest ethical standards.  True, But…

Who’s to say or decide what’s right or wrong? Where is the reference if not religion?  Why wouldn’t people have a sexual relationship with a sibling for example? Why would they get married, they can just have sex in the street, with whoever, or whatever for that matter.  Where did the laws of conduct come from?  And let’s say you happen to be a civilized, well-balanced, ethical human, don’t you think there are very bad atheists, with absolutely no moral inclination?  Wouldn’t you then fear for your children, daughter, sister, mother, the elderly? How would the society look like when people have no predisposition to try to do only the right thing?

        • Motivation: If we assume this whole life is for nothing, no purpose, no creator, no accountability whatsoever, and no afterlife, why not we all end it and solve our every problem?  It would be easier than having to go through all struggles and challenges.  What motivates us to continues living, working hard, getting up in the morning, if all this was for nothing at all?
        • Order: This extreme order and organization that’s apparent in every single aspect of this life HAS to be controlled and managed by some all-knowing all-magnificent power. It can’t be just a chaotic/unorderly sequence of events.  Every single man-made system that exists (e.g. machines, governments, production lines, health systems, education, etc. ) has a manager or a parallel mechanism that controls and monitors it, in order to ensure it operates/runs properly and corrects any mistakes should it deviate from normal/intended path.  There has to be a manager with checks and balances done.  This is a law of life we’re living by daily.  So who’s the Creator and Manager of the greatest and biggest of all systems?  Nature is a creation in itself, it doesn’t have the intelligence or knowledge to make things happen.  Whereas whoever created and is controlling this unfathomable universe has to have an amount of intelligence that is beyond our imagination and comprehension.  Yet, as insignificant as we are compared to the universe, our ego become so inflated with the minute amount of science we’ve come to know and the first thing we decided to do is to challenge our Creator and deny His existence.  Ask Him to prove Himself to us.  How dare we??!!
        • Innate knowledge: How were all the creatures, humans, animals and plants, born with innate knowledge that guided them on what they should do from the moment they were born? How did the spider learn to create a web so perfect that it takes a skilled artist or architect years to learn to do?  How did the new leaves on a plant know where to stem from when it was discovered that the new stem location process follows a Fibonacci numbering system?  Where did the unbelievable amount of knowledge found in our DNA come from when nature itself is a non-intelligent creation?

It just doesn’t make sense at all!!!

        You know what makes sense?

It is that we are here for a purpose, there is a Creator, this life is only but a short phase no matter how long we live and it passes so quickly, and we shall have to come face to face with all our actions, good or bad, someday!!

Yet God puts us in higher standing and regards us more than we really deserve, favoring us to angels for having willingly chosen to worship Him, unlike angels who have no will or ability to choose.

The stakes are just too high for you to keep on ignoring this matter.  My sincere advice: read, research, learn, ask (pray) with all sincerity for guidance and truth, approach the topic with a totally open and unbiased mind, and above all, with humility.  Humble yourself enough to conceit a possibility of a Creator that you should ask for help.  And finally, put your ego, other peoples’ influences, and worldly matters aside.

He loses nothing with or without you on His side. YOU stand to lose EVERYTHING, and ETERNALLYThis IS the most important project you need to work on in your life.

You only get one chance, one lifetime, so please get it right!!
